Grove Farm museum 150th Luau
Grove Farm museum 150th Luau

In November of 1864 George Wilcox acquired a property outside of Lihue known as Grove Farm. His education in engineering helped him to irrigate 900 acres of barren land, which led to the creation of a successful Kauai sugar plantation. The rest, as they say, is history.

Be a part of Kauai’s unique history by joining in the celebration of this significant milestone at Grove Farm museum’s old style 150th Anniversary Luau starring Melveen Leed. The luau will be under the full moon on the front lawn of Grove Farm museum on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $150 per couple, $75 per person and $25 for children 12 and under. Tables of 10 are available for $750. To purchase tickets or for more information, please call 808-245-3202; or email grovefarm@hawaiiantel.net. Tickets are also available at the Waioli Mission House in Hanalei, Magic Dragon in Princeville, Kauai Music & Sound in Kapaa, Pictures Plus in Lihue, Island Soap & Candle Works in Koloa, and Talk Story Books in Hanapepe.

Grove Farm and other historic sites were preserved by Mr. Wilcox’s niece, Miss Mabel Wilcox throughout her lifetime. In 1975 she entrusted these sites and their collections to the community as the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Waioli Corporation. This fundraising event will help support the continued preservation of these pristine historic sites for the Kauai community and visitors from around the world to learn from and enjoy.
